Dojo leaders
Eduardo Patrizio - 道場長 Dojo-cho
Eduardo is the founding dojo leader at Shinbōshin and is a 代表 'Daihyo' (Representative) & 門下生 'Monkasei' (Disciple) under Kajiya Takanori-soke, 12th Head Master of Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu. Having studied under Kajiya-soke both in Japan and at international keiko abroad.
Since the beginning of his martial journey, Eduardo was always interested in Miyamoto Musashi sensei's teachings and the Go Rin no Sho (The Book of Five Rings). He is passionate about promoting the practice of Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu, as taught today by Kajiya-soke. He also regularly trains with the rest of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu UK Shibu throughout the year.
Eduardo has over 25 years experience in the martial arts, being also an experienced Xingyiquan practitioner (Chinese Martial Arts) and holds Shodan in Motoha Yoshin-ryu Jujutsu, awarded by Yasumoto Akiyoshi soke in Yonago, Japan. He also holds 2nd Degree in Goshinjutsu (Modern Jujutsu).
Outside of martial arts, he is a student of Japanese Art, including Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy), Sumie (Ink painting) and Tenkoku (seal carving), under the tutelage of Master Calligrapher Koshu Shihan (Akemi Lucas-sensei). Certified as a Shodoshi (Japanese Calligraphy Artist) with the Bunka Shodo Gakkai in Tokyo, Japan and is continuing his development to professional levels.
He is also a zazen (Zen meditation) practitioner, having learned from Head priest of Rinzaishu Shunkoin-ji temple; Kawakami Takafumi sensei in Kyoto,Head priest of Sotoshu Takakurayama Ganjoji temple, Minami Kenji sensei in Mito, Japan and Daizan Skinner sensei from Rinzaishu Zendokai (Zen Ways) in London.
Professionally Eduardo works as a Chartered Information Technology Professional and Professional Engineer.
Emile Etheridge - 道場の先輩 Dojo Senpai
Emile is the Dojo senpai and assistant dojo lead at Shinbōshin, having regularly trained under Eduardo's instruction in Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu at the dojo and with the UK shibu for the past 11 years.
He has 26 years experience in the martial arts, having also studied in the past: Chayon-ryu and Wing Chun.
Outside of martial arts he enjoys; fly fishing, playing the Cello and traveling.
Professionally, Emile works as a secondary school head teacher, with several years experience in education including; in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan.
